Accessibility Statement

Updated: September 24, 2024

Our Goal

We want everyone who visits the Siteimprove website and uses our platform to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

To ensure a universally positive experience, we adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, which outlines how to make web content accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the Siteimprove website and products.

By ensuring a Level AA accessibility conformance, we allow for assistive technology such as screen readers, braille displays, plugins, and browser extensions to add further functionality needed by the individual user.

How are we doing?

The Siteimprove website (siteimprove.com) is WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliant.

All products on the Siteimprove platform are designed and built to be WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliant. Despite our best efforts, there may be occasions when an accessibility bug is not caught before release. In these instances, we will promptly include the issue in our Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), along with an expected date for having the bug fixed.

What are we doing?

We are committed to ensuring a great user experience for all and have implemented several measures:

  • Central Accessibility Team:
We have formed a team certified by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) to lead our accessibility initiatives. This team is dedicated to providing ongoing training to our product development teams, ensuring they are equipped to create accessible products.

  • Design and Development:
Accessibility is integrated into all phases, from design to development and testing. We use an internal design system of reusable components rigorously tested for accessibility.

  • Testing:
We employ automated checks and manual audits conducted by accessibility professionals for a comprehensive assessment.

  • Employee Policies and Training:
Accessibility is embedded in our employee policies and training modules.

  • Third-party Compliance:
We require all third-party vendors to comply with accessibility standards.

  • Industry Involvement:
We actively collaborate with W3C and other organizations to stay updated on accessibility standards and legislation.

The Siteimprove Accessibility Pledge

We champion global inclusion by empowering people to do more through digital accessibility, which is at the heart of our company.

We are committed to ensuring that digital solutions and content developed, or acquired, by Siteimprove meet a high level of accessibility. This means either conformance with level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 or ensuring that the solutions are effective, efficient, engaging, error-tolerant, and easy to learn for users of all abilities.

We pledge that should a conflict arise between release deadlines, aesthetics, and the production of accessible solutions and content, accessibility will remain a priority.
